This simple and comforting meal features tender meatballs made from our own ground beef, slow-cooked in a flavorful onion gravy. Paired with crispy roasted potatoes and sweet carrots, it’s a hearty dish that’s easy to prepare and perfect for a cozy family dinner.
This recipe serves 4 people.
Ingredients:
2 lb Ground beef
1 Tbsp Steak seasoning
2 Onions
2 Tbsp Tomato Purée
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp Mustard
1 Tsp oregano
3 Crushed garlic cloves
Salt and pepper
750 ml beef stock
2 Tbsp Gravy powder
50 ml water
4 Carrots
1Tbsp Honey
1 Tsp thyme
1 Tsp Rosemary
Olive Oil
3 lb Red Potatoes
1 Tsp Parsley
1 Tsp Dill
Method:
Mix the ground beef with the steak seasoning and form into balls. Cook them for a few minutes on the pan to brown and add them to the slowcooker.
Cut the onions in rings and fry them on the same pan including the juices from the meatballs, then add this to the slowcooker.
Add the tomato purée, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, oregano, garlic, beef stock and some salt and pepper. Dissolve the gravy powder with 50 ml of water and add this to the slowcooker.
You can cook this on low for 7-8 hours or on high for 4 hours.
Wash the potatoes and cut them into even small pieces.
Coat it with olive Oil, Dill and Parsley
Put them in the oven for 45 minutes on 400°F. Turn the potatoes halfway through.
Wash and peel the carrots. Slice them in thin strips and coat it with a mixture of Honey, Olive oil, Rosemary and Thyme. Put them in the oven with the potatoes until they are soft.
